Esistono momenti in cui non occorrono parole per descrivere e trasmettere un’emozione.
Lo Yellow Ball rappresenta uno di questi momenti. Solo avendolo vissuto intensamente, facendone parte, si può comprendere l’emozione che questa kermesse ha suscitato nei cuori dei protagonisti.
La seconda edizione dello Yellow Ball (26 Giugno-2 Luglio 2016), festival della pallanuoto giovanile organizzato dall’Associazione Waterpolo People, da me presieduta e coordinata da Gabriele Pomilio, fondatore della Waterpolo Development ed ideatore di eventi similari quali Haba Waba e Waterball Festival, ha riscosso un successo che è andato oltre le migliori aspettative.
La manifestazione, al suo secondo anno di vita, ha quasi triplicato i numeri dei club partecipanti, raddoppiando le categorie di gioco (under 10, under 13, under 15 maschile, under 15 femminile). Sono stati circa 1300 i soggetti coinvolti tra atleti, tecnici, dirigenti, arbitri e staff.
Il successo dell’evento è stato, in gran parte, dovuto all’impegno di oltre 70 volontari che hanno prestato gratuitamente la loro preziosa opera e che, pur non remunerati, hanno curato con particolare attenzione le rispettive aree di competenza, risultando determinanti per la complessa gestione del torneo.
La suggestiva location che ha ospitato l’evento è stata il Parco della Mostra d’Oltremare, trasformato per l’occasione nel “Villaggio Yellow Ball”, un’immensa area verde adiacente alla Piscina della Mostra, nella quale i partecipanti, nel tempo libero, hanno potuto divertirsi con le tante attrazioni ed i tanti giochi, gestiti perfettamente da una agenzia di animazione, con notevole professionalità.
Per dare ulteriore “colore” all’evento sono stati allestiti, nel Villaggio, due spazi riservati al FACE-PAINTING. Le artiste presenti hanno colorato e disegnato i volti emozionati dei giovani pallanuotisti.
Oltre alla Piscina della Mostra d’Oltremare, per svolgere i numerosi incontri, la Waterpolo People ha ottenuto dal Comune di Napoli l’utilizzo della storica Piscina Olimpionica “Felice Scandone” di Fuorigrotta, tempio della pallanuoto mondiale. Negli ultimi anni queste due strutture sportive hanno ospitato grandi eventi internazionali e sono impianti inclusi nel progetto “Napoli 2019”, relativo alle prossime Universiadi.
A patrocinare l’evento il Ministero degli Esteri, la Regione Campania, il Comune di Napoli, l’Ente Mostra d’Oltremare, l’EOC (Comitato Olimpico Europeo), il CONI, la FINA, la LEN e la FIN.
Tanti sono stati gli sponsor ed i partner che hanno affiancato e supportato la Waterpolo People nell’organizzazione: il Centro Aktis, ancora una volta Main Sponsor, Carpisa, Yamamay, Jaked (sponsor tecnico ufficiale), San Carlo, Ferrarelle, Reginauto, Cytec, Gambrinus-Rosati, Races, Multipower, Rotary Club Napoli Sud Ovest, Centro Scoliosi Napoli e Milleculure.
Tra i partner solidali dello Yellow Ball l’Associazione umanitaria “Bambini senza Confini” e l’Associazione benefica “Carmine Gallo” ONLUS per le quali si è allestita una raccolta fondi, durante le giornate di gara.
Le 60 squadre sono state divise nelle 4 categorie.
Per il torneo UNDER 10, hanno preso parte: ACQUACHIARA “NEMO”, ACQUACHIARA “MINIONS”, ACQUACHIARA “SPONGEBOB”, ALBA ORIENS SHARKS, DINAMICA TORINO, PRESIDENT BOLOGNA, CORSARI SPORT MANAGEMENT, 7 SCOGLI, ROMA NUOTO, FLEGREO “CICLOPI”
Le 30 squadre che hanno preso parte al torneo UNDER 13, invece, sono state divise in tre gironi. Le formazioni partecipanti a questa categoria sono state: ACQUACHIARA SCUGNIZZI, ACQUACHIARA GLADIATOR, PAN SHARKS, PAN CROCS, PAN DOLPHINS, PRESIDENT BOLOGNA, RARI NANTES FLORENTIA, RARI NANTES PALERMO 89, RAPPRESENTATIVA PNI, DINAMICA TORINO, COSENZA NUOTO, TORRE DEL GRIFO “HEY BROTHERS”, TORRE DEL GRIFO “HUGALA”, CANOTTIERI NAPOLI “JUNIOR”, CANOTTIERI NAPOLI “SENIOR”, LUPI IRPINI, CSS TRICHECHI, 3T SPORTING CLUB, ROMA NUOTO “A”, ROMA NUOTO “B”, CAVASPORTS, SPORT PROJECT BARI, BUCANIERI SPORT MANAGEMENT, PIRATI DELLA COSTA SPORT MANAGEMENT, FLEGREO “VULCANICI”, FLEGREO “SIBILLE”, AQUAFIT CATANIA, MURI ANTICHI CATANIA, 7 SCOGLI, ALBRICCI.
Le squadre iscritte per la categoria UNDER 15 MASCHILE sono state: WARRIORS RC NAPOLI SUDOVEST, DINAMICA TORINO “A”, DINAMICA TORINO “B”, CANOTTIERI NAPOLI, TEAM RIVIERA, CSS SQUALI, FLEGREO “AVERNI”, 7 SCOGLI, SWIM WATERPOLO, ITALPOWER GUINNES, RAPPRESENTATIVA CAMPANA
Grande novità di quest’anno è stata la categoria UNDER 15 riservata esclusivamente al settore femminile. Un vero e proprio “Pink Ball” che ha reso protagoniste le atlete delle nove formazioni partecipanti. Le squadre che hanno preso parte a questa categoria sono state: ACQUACHIARA ROSA, ACQUARIUSSINE TRAPANI, RARI NANTES BOLOGNA, CSS FOCHE, 3T SPORTING CLUB, MEDROX IMPERIA, MURENE SPORT MANAGEMENT, PESCARA NUOTO, FLEGREO “FLAVIE”.
Il torneo è stato diretto da Maurizio Sansone, responsabile del settore pallanuoto del Comitato Regionale Campano della FIN. A dirigere i 396 incontri sono stati 20 arbitri, coordinati dal delegato federale Rotunno e dal direttore di gara Rotondano, e coadiuvati da 40 giudici di gara.
Anche quest’anno, gli atleti hanno sperimentato le nuove regole “Yellow Ball”, la cui eventuale introduzione nei massimi campionati potrebbe portare giovamento al gioco sul piano tecnico, tattico e spettacolare. Le regole sperimentate sono state:
- 6 giocatori in acqua: il portiere più 5 atleti di movimento.
- Posizionamento dei giocatori in tutto il campo durante la contesa della palla al centro.
- Pressing vietato oltre i 7 metri.
- Possesso palla di 40" nelle categorie Under 13 ed Under 15.
- Tempo di espulsione di 30" nelle categorie Under 15.
- Ripristino della regola che prevede l'assegnazione del corner anche su deviazione del difensore.
Nella sperimentazione è stata prevista anche una nuova formula per l'attribuzione della vittoria: ogni partita si è giocata al meglio dei tre set. Per vincerla, cioè, la squadra ha dovuto aggiudicarsi due set su tre.
Nel corso del torneo, inoltre, tutte le squadre hanno indossato calottine fluorescenti. La fluorescenza delle calottine è una innovazione che potrà servire per meglio identificare i giocatori in particolar modo quando si creano fastidiosi riflessi della luce sull’acqua. Per lo stesso motivo la palla gialla ha sostituito l’attuale pallone multicolore.
Le operazioni di accredito si sono svolte nella hall della Piscina Scandone, in due services con bar, info point e spazio merchandising. All’arrivo, le squadre sono state accolte da giocolieri, pupazzoni, trampolieri, supereroi e l’immancabile mascotte dell’evento YEBA, letteralmente presa d’assalto da tutti con selfie e foto ricordo.
Tutti gli atleti hanno ricevuto lo YELLOW KIT, uno zainetto che conteneva: cappellino, t-shirt, pass, snack, bottiglina d’acqua, brochure ufficiale, poster del torneo, poster workshop “Cyber Bullismo” ed il codice etico che ricorda non solo i principi etici dello sport ma anche il rispetto dell’ambiente.
Anche nella Piscina Mostra d’Oltremare è stato istallato un INFO POINT per dare informazioni e per la risoluzione di eventuali problemi logistici.
Nel Villaggio della Mostra è stato istallato il MERCHANDISING POINT con prodotti brandizzati YELLOW BALL ed un PHOTO POINT dove tutti i partecipanti hanno potuto scegliere le foto più emozionanti dell’evento, relativi alla loro partecipazione.
Particolare attenzione è stata dedicata ad uno dei problemi più diffusi nelle nuove generazioni: il Cyber-bullismo ed il corretto uso del web. Si sono svolti 20 workshop “Non cadere nella rete” rivolti ad atleti, dirigenti, tecnici e famiglie delle 60 squadre partecipanti. Al termine dei workshop, tutti gli atleti hanno ricevuto un diploma di partecipazione personalizzato.
La prima sera dell’evento, le squadre sono state ricevute in una cena di benvenuto presso l’Irish Pub “La Brasserie” di Fuorigrotta; al termine della stessa, dirigenti e tecnici hanno preso parte ad un TECHINCAL MEETING nel quale è stato dato il benvenuto e nel quale si è parlato dei vari aspetti organizzativi dell’evento e delle regole che sarebbero state adottate nel corso del torneo.
Il format dello Yellow Ball, relativamente agli incontri che si sono avuti durante l’evento, è una delle parti del PROGETTO DI SVILUPPO, prodotto dalla Waterpolo People dopo aver avuto diversi incontri informali con la FINA, sul quale l’Associazione ha lavorato due anni su indirizzo della stessa FINA che, come concordato, avrà la LEADERSHIP nell’eventuale progetto finale.
Durante le future edizioni dello Yellow Ball si terranno incontri con dirigenti, tecnici, arbitri e gestori di impianti per confrontarsi, nell’ottica di redigere materiale pedagogico finalizzato all’individuazione di promotori/divulgatori della pallanuoto in workshop “full-immersion”. Se richiesto, le proposte saranno raccolte per essere esaminate in eventuali incontri che potranno aversi con il Comitato Tecnico della FINA, unitamente alla Commissione di Sviluppo FINA.
Sono stati 7 gli hotels (3/4 stelle) coinvolti nell’accoglienza delle squadre.
E’ stato messo a disposizione dei club un efficiente servizio di transfer, grazie al supporto del CONI, del Ministero della Difesa e dello Stato Maggiore, che con 8 navette e 4 bus della Polizia di Stato, Carabinieri, Aeronautica Militare hanno gestito, in totale sicurezza e con estrema puntualità, tutti i trasferimenti delle squadre.
Nelle due strutture sono stati allestiti ben 7 campi da gioco: tre presso la Piscina Scandone e quattro presso la Piscina Mostra d’Oltremare.
Al termine della Regular Season, si sono svolte le fasi di semifinali e finali.
Grande novità di quest’anno è stato lo YEBA COACH GAME. Questo format, che dato il notevole successo verrà riproposto nelle prossime edizioni dello YELLOW BALL, ha visto confrontarsi, in una goliardica e divertente partita di pallanuoto, tutti i tecnici delle squadre partecipanti, divisi in due rappresentative: quella del centro-nord e quella del sud. Nella rappresentativa del centro-nord, capitanata da Pino Porzio (che si è aggiudicata l’incontro col punteggio di 7-3), e del Sud, capitanata da Franco Porzio, hanno partecipato atleti di grande spessore e calibro come l’ungherese Merci Stieber (due volte campionessa del mondo) e Giusi Malato (oro olimpico ad Atene 2004).
Sulle tribune della Mostra d’Oltremare è stata una vera e propria festa.
Le finali, disputate nel campo centrale della Piscina Mostra d’Oltremare, davanti ad una spettacolare cornice di pubblico presente sulle tribune, hanno visto vincitrici la formazione dei Corsari Sport Management (nella categoria under 10), i francesi del Pan Sharks (nella categoria under 13), le Aquariussine Trapani (nella categoria under 15 femminile) e la Rappresentativa Campana (nella categoria under 15 maschile).
Al termine delle finali si è svolta l’emozionante Cerimonia di Premiazione nella quale sono stati premiati tutti gli atleti delle 60 squadre partecipanti e nella quale sono stati attribuiti i premi speciali Yellow Ball.
A tutte le squadre è stata consegnata una coppa ricordo mentre i singoli atleti hanno ricevuto una medaglia ed un diploma di partecipazione al torneo.
Le prime quattro classificate di ogni categoria hanno ricevuto i trofei terzo (le due squadre perdenti le semifinali), secondo e primo posto e ciascun atleta, relativamente al piazzamento ottenuto, ha ricevuto medaglie di bronzo, argento ed oro.
Il premio YEBA COACH, rivolto ai migliori tecnici nelle quattro categorie, è andato a: Roberto Boldrini (tecnico dei Corsari Sport Management – U10), Giuseppe Postiglione (tecnico del Cavasports – U13), Alessandro Di Bartolo (tecnico delle Aquariussine Trapani – U15 Femminile), Gianluca Garibaldi (tecnico della Dinamica Torino – U15 Maschile).
Paolo Trapanese, presidente del Comitato Regionale Campano della Federazione Italiana Nuoto, ha premiato, con lo YEBA GOALKEEPER, i migliori quattro portieri del torneo: Filippo Ghirardi (Corsari Sport Management – U10), Gabriele Cuccia (R.N. Palermo ’89 – U13), Sofia Buffa (Aquariussine Trapani – U15 Femminile) e Gaetano Panza (Rappr. Campana – U15 Maschile).
L’assessore allo sport del Comune di Napoli Ciro Borriello, invece, ha premiato, con lo YEBA TOP-SCORER, i migliori quattro marcatori nelle rispettive categorie: Davide Mazzola (Corsari Sport Management – U10), Alexis Drahe (Pan Sharks – U13), Erika Bottiglieri (Acquachiara Rosa – U15 Femminile), Matteo Mucilli (Dinamica Torino – U15 Maschile).
Franco Porzio ha poi premiato i due TESTIMONIAL dell’evento: il campione del mondo e vicecampione olimpico Amaurys Perez e la campionessa europea e plurititolata Elisa Casanova.
Come consueto la Waterpolo People ha, poi, destinato un premio speciale al bambino più piccolo del torneo, lo YEBA BABY. E’ stato premiato con questo riconoscimento Umberto Carbone della formazione del Flegreo Ciclopi.
Allo scopo di esaltare e rendere omaggio ai principi etici e sportivi, la Waterpolo People ha attribuito il premio YEBA FAIR PLAY, riconoscimento per l'atleta che più degli altri durante il torneo ha dimostrato col proprio comportamento di aver aderito e fatti propri i principi ispiratori dello Yellow Ball, al capitano della squadra francese dei Pan Sharks Teyssir Aissi.
I direttori di gara Domenico Rotondano e l’internazionale Filippo Gomez, hanno ricevuto il riconoscimento YEBA REFEREE: il primo per l’impegno profuso nella gestione arbitrale dell’evento ed il secondo, che ha diretto la finale dello Yellow Ball, come premio alla carriera e come omaggio per la recente designazione per i Giochi Olimpici di Rio de Janeiro.
A Franco Esposito, maestro del giornalismo sportivo italiano, è andato il premio YEBA MEDIA.
Per un improvviso impegno familiare il premio YEBA PAPI non è stato consegnato a Goran Sukno, a cui comunque è stato assegnato.
Durante la cerimonia si è tenuta, poi, la favolosa YELLOW LOTTERY, lotteria alla quale hanno partecipato gratuitamente tutti gli atleti per l’estrazione di 8 meravigliosi premi messi in palio dalla Waterpolo People. Primo premio della LOTTERY è stato un viaggio per quattro persone in una meta a scelta, offerto dall’agenzia di viaggi COCORITour.
Nel corso della cerimonia sono stati premiati, infine, da importanti personalità del mondo politico e sportivo tutti gli sponsor e partner dell’evento.
Il successo ottenuto ci dà ulteriori stimoli per pianificare l’organizzazione della terza edizione dello Yellow Ball Waterpolo International Event ed accrescere ulteriormente il prestigio di questo torneo che, al suo secondo anno di vita, si è già consolidato quale uno degli eventi più importanti nel mondo della pallanuoto giovanile.
Pensiamo che, per contribuire al miglioramento della popolarità del nostro sport, non dobbiamo chiedere cosa la pallanuoto può fare per noi, ma cosa ognuno di noi può fare per il nostro sport.
Questo è il nostro sogno… questa è la nostra emozione… questo è Yellow Ball!

There are moments when no words are needed to describe and convey an emotion.
Yellow Ball is one of these moments. Only having lived intensely, making part of  it, you can understand the emotion that this event aroused in the hearts of the protagonists.
The second edition of  Yellow Ball (26 June-2 July 2016), the youth water polo festival organized by Waterpolo People, which I chaired and coordinated by Gabriele Pomilio, founder of Waterpolo Development and creator of similar events such as Haba Waba and Waterball Festival, gained a success that went beyond the best expectations.
The event, in its second year of life, has almost tripled the number of participating clubs, doubling the game categories (under-10, under-13, under-15 male, under 15 female). About 1300 subjects were involved among athletes, coaches, managers, referees and staff.
The event's success was largely due to the commitment of more than 70 volunteers who lent their valuable work for free and, although unpaid, took particular care to their respective areas of expertise, resulting determinants in the complex management of the tournament.
The evocative location that hosted the event was the Park of  Mostra d’Oltremare, transformed for the occasion in the " Yellow Ball Village ", a huge green area adjacent to the pool of the Mostra, in which participants, in their free time , could have fun with the many attractions and the many games, managed seamlessly by an entertainment agency, with remarkable professionalism.
In order to give additional "colour" to the event, two spaces were set up for the FACE-PAINTING. The artists present coloured and designed the faces of excited young water polo players.
In addition to the pool of  Mostra d’Oltremare, in order to play the numerous matches during the tournament  Waterpolo People got by the Municipality of  Naples the use of historic Olympic Swimming Pool "Felice Scandone" in Fuorigrotta, the temple of world water polo.
In recent years these two sports facilities have hosted major international events and are included in the "Napoli 2019" project on the forthcoming Universiade.
The event was patronised by  the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Campania Region, the Municipality of  Naples, Mostra d’Oltremare Authority, the EOC (European Olympic Committee), the Italian Olympic Committee, FINA, LEN and FIN.
Many were the sponsors and partners who helped and supported Waterpolo People in the organization: the Aktis Center, once again the main sponsor, Carpisa, Yamamay, Jaked (official sponsor), San Carlo, Ferrarelle, Reginauto, Cytec, Gambrinus-Rosati, Races, Multipower, Rotary Club of  Naples South West, Scoliosis Centre Naples and Milleculure.
Among the supportive partner of the Yellow Ball  the Humanitarian Association " Bambini senza confine " (Children without Borders) and the charity association "Carmine Gallo" NPO for which it was set up a fundraiser during the days of competition.
The 60 teams were divided into four categories.
 For the UNDER 10 – category the team were the following  : ACQUACHIARA “NEMO”, ACQUACHIARA “MINIONS”, ACQUACHIARA “SPONGEBOB”, ALBA ORIENS SHARKS, DINAMICA TORINO, PRESIDENT BOLOGNA, CORSARI SPORT MANAGEMENT, 7 SCOGLI, ROMA NUOTO, FLEGREO “CICLOPI”

For the UNDER 15- MALE the teams were: WARRIORS RC NAPOLI SUDOVEST, DINAMICA TORINO “A”, DINAMICA TORINO “B”, CANOTTIERI NAPOLI, TEAM RIVIERA, CSS SQUALI, FLEGREO “AVERNI”, 7 SCOGLI, SWIM WATERPOLO, ITALPOWER GUINNES, RAPPRESENTATIVA CAMPANA.
Big news this year was the category UNDER 15 reserved exclusively for the female sector. A real "Pink Ball" tournament among the nine participating teams. The squads that took part in this category were: ACQUACHIARA ROSA, ACQUARIUSSINE TRAPANI, RARI NANTES BOLOGNA, CSS FOCHE, 3T SPORTING CLUB, MEDROX IMPERIA, MURENE SPORT MANAGEMENT, PESCARA NUOTO, FLEGREO “FLAVIE”.
The tournament was directed by Maurizio Sansone, responsible for the water polo field of the  Regional Committee of FIN. 20 referees directed the 396 matches , coordinated by the Federal Delegate Rotunno and the referee Rotondano, and supported by 40 judges.
Also this year, athletes have experienced the new "Yellow Ball" rules, and its introduction into the main championships could bring benefit to the game on the technical, tactical and spectacular level. The rules have been tested ate the following:
6 players In the water: 5 field players + 1 goalkeeper
Positioning of the players all over the field during the dispute of the ball in the centre.
Pressing banned over 7 meters.
Possession of 40" in the categories Under 13 and Under 15.
Ejection time of 30 "in the categories Under 15
Restoration of the rule that provides for the allocation of the corner even on the defender deviation.
In testing  it was also provided a new formula for the allocation of victory: every game has been played best of 3 periods. To win it the team had to win 2 periods.
During the tournament, also, all the teams wore fluorescent caps. The fluorescence of the caps is an innovation that will serve to better identify the players especially when they create annoying reflections of light on water. For the same reason Yellow Ball replaced the current multi-coloured ball.
The accreditation was conducted at the hall  of the Scandone pool, in two services with a bar, info point and merchandising space. Upon arrival, the teams were greeted by jugglers, animated puppets, waders, superheroes and the inevitable event mascot Yeba, literally assaulted by all for shooting selfies and pictures.
All athletes received the YELLOW KIT, a backpack containing: hat, t-shirt, pass, snacks, a bottle of water, the official brochure, poster of the tournament, workshop poster "Cyber ​​Bullying" and the code of ethics that not only remember the ethical principles of the sport but also the respect for the environment.
Even an INFO POINT was installed in the pool of Mostra d’Oltremare to give information and to resolve any logistical problems.
In the Village of Mostra d’Oltremare  it was installed the MERCHANDISING POINT with YELLOW BALL branded products and a PHOTO POINT where all the participants could choose among the most exciting photos of the event, concerning their participation.
Particular attention was dedicated to one of the most common problems in the new generations: the Cyber-bullying and the proper use of the web. They were held 20 workshops "Do not fall into the net" aimed at athletes, managers, coaches and families of the 60 participating teams. At the end of the workshop, all athletes received a personalized participation certificate.
The  first evening of the event, the teams were received in a welcome dinner at the Irish Pub "La Brasserie" in Fuorigrotta; at the end of the same, managers and technicians have participated in a TECHINCAL MEETING in which they talk of various organizational aspects of the event and the rules that were adopted during the tournament.
The format of the Yellow Ball, regarding the matches that took place during the event, is one of the parts of the DEVELOPMENT PROJECT, produced by Waterpolo People after having had several informal meetings with FINA, upon which the Association has worked for two years  on FINA instructions, as agreed, will have the LEADERSHIP in the eventual final project.
During the next editions of the Yellow Ball  there will be meetings with managers, coaches, referees and plant operators to confront, in order to prepare educational materials aimed at identifying promoters / disseminators of water polo in a "full-immersion" workshop. If requested, the proposals will be collected to be examined in any  eventual meetings with the  FINA Technical Committee, together with the FINA Development Commission.
7 hotels (3/4 stars) were involved in welcoming the teams. It was made available to the clubs, thanks to the support of the National Olympic Committee, the Ministry of Defence and the General Staff,  an efficient service of transfer that, with 8 shuttles and 4 buses of the State Police, Carabinieri, Air Force have managed in complete safety and with extreme punctuality all transfers of the teams.
In the two structures were set up 7 playgrounds, three at the Scandone pool and four at the Mostra d’Oltremare pool.
At the end of the regular season semi-finals and finals were held.
 
Big news this year was the YEBA COACH GAME. This format, which gained great success will be repeated in future editions of the YELLOW BALL, saw a confront, in a goliardic and fun game of water polo, all the technicians of the participating teams, divided into two representative: that of the centre-north and the south. In the centre-north representative, led by Pino Porzio (who won the encounter with the score of 7-3), and the South, led by Franco Porzio, famous athletes participates such as the Hungarian Merci Stieber (two times world champion) and Giusy Malato (Olympic gold medals at Athens 2004).
 
Great feast on the stands of the Mostra d’Oltremare.
 
The final, played in the ​​pool of  Mostra d’Oltremare, in front of a passionate crowd, were won by Corsari Sport Management (in the under 10 category), the French of Pan Sharks (in the under 13 category), the Aquariussine Trapani (in the women's under 15 category) and Campania Representative (in the men’s under 15 category).
 
At the end of the finals the exciting awards ceremony was held in which all athletes of the 60 participating teams were awarded and in which they were accorded special Yellow Ball prizes.
 
All teams received a commemorative cup while individual athletes gained a medal and a certificate of participation in the tournament.
 
The top four teams in each category received the trophies for third (the two losers of the semi-finals), second and first place and each athlete, relative to the position obtained, achieved bronze medals, silver and gold.
 
The YEBA COACH Award, aimed at the best technicians in the four categories, went to: Roberto Boldrini (coach of Corsari Sport Management – U10), Giuseppe Postiglione (coach of Cavasports - U13), Alessandro Di Bartolo (coach of Aquariussine Trapani - U15 Female ), Gianluca Garibaldi (coach of  Dynamics Torino - U15 Men).
 
Paolo Trapani, president of the Campania Committee of  FIN, honoured, with the YEBA GOALKEEPER, the best four goalkeepers of the tournament: Filippo Ghirardi (Corsari Sport Management – U10), Gabriele Cuccia (R.N. Palermo ’89 – U13), Sofia Buffa (Aquariussine Trapani – U15 female) and Gaetano Panza (Campania representative – U15 Maschile).
 
The Assessor for Sports of the Municipality of Naples Ciro Borriello, however, rewarded with the YEBA-TOP SCORER, the best four scorers in their respective categories: Davide Mazzola (Corsari Sport Management - U10), Alexis Drahe (Pan Sharks - U13) , Erika Bottiglieri (Acquachiara Rosa - U15 Female), Matteo Mucilli (Dynamic Torino - U15 Men).
 
Franco Porzio then awarded the two event TESTIMONIALS: the world champion and Olympic runner-up Amaurys Perez and the European champion and multi-titled Elisa Casanova.
 
As usual, Waterpolo People dedicated, then, a special prize to the smallest baby of the tournament, the  YEBA BABY. It was honoured with this award Umberto Carbone of Flegreo Cyclops.
 
In order to highlight and pay tribute to the ethical and sports principles, Waterpolo People attributed the YEBA FAIR PLAY Award, recognition for the athlete who most of the others during the tournament has proven with his own behaviour that he joined and made the guiding principles of Yellow Ball, to the captain of the French team of Pan Sharks Teyssir Aissi.
 
The match officials Domenico Rotondano and the International Philip Gomez, received YEBA REFEREE awards: the first for his efforts in the arbitration managing of the event and the second, who directed the final of the Yellow Ball, as a lifetime achievement award and as a tribute to the recent appointment to the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
 
Franco Esposito, master of Italian sports journalism, gained the YEBA MEDIA award.
 
For a sudden family work the YEBA PAPI prize has not been delivered to Goran Sukno, who nevertheless received the award.
 
During the ceremony the fabulous YELLOW LOTTERY took place, in which all athletes participated for the extraction of 8 wonderful prizes from Waterpolo People. First prize of the LOTTERY was a trip for four people in a chosen destination, offered by the travel agency COCORITour.
 
During the ceremony all the sponsors and event partners were rewarded by important personalities of the political and sports world.
 
The success gives us extra motivation to plan the organization of the third edition of the Yellow Ball Waterpolo International Event and further enhance the prestige of this tournament, in its second year of life, has already established itself as one of the most important events in the world of youth water polo.
 
We think that in order to help improve the popularity of our sport, we should not ask what water polo can do for us, but what each of us can do for our sport.
 
This is our dream ... this is our emotion ... this is Yellow Ball!
